1 c Butter
3/4 c Powdered sugar
1 Egg
1/2 ts Vanilla
1/8 ts Salt
2 c Sifted flour
1 c Uncooked oatmeal
1 c Chopped pecans
Powdered sugar for rolling Cream butter add sugar gradually beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in salt, flour, oatmeal and pecans. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees, about 20 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while warm. Makes about 6 1/2 dozen cookies

INGREDIENTS PREVIOUSLY MADE 2 1/2 qt Chicken Stock (See other recipe) Put the previously prepared, cold, fat free, 2 1/2 quarts of chicken stock in an 8 quart pan. Add a whole stewing fowl or roasting chicken weighing between 4 and 5 pounds. Bring slowly to a boil. Skim off any scum that forms on the surface reduce heat cover and simmer gently until the chicken is very tender, about 1 hour for a young chicken, or 2 to 2 1/2 hours for a fowl.
