6 c Peeled apples, cut in 1 inch
wedges 2 ts Lemon juice
1 tb Flour
1/3 c White sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1/4 ts Salt
1/8 ts Ginger
1 tb Butter
This scrumptious spicy apple pie is served with a hot brandy sauce. pastry of your choice cream or milk hot brandy sauce (recipe follows) Sprinkle apple wedges with lemon juice and toss well. Combine remaining ingredients e cept butter, cream and sauce. Line a 9 inch pie plate with half the pastry and sprinkle bottom with 1/3 of the sugar spice mi . Top with half the apple wedges, fitting them in as tightly as possible. Sprinkle with another third of the sugar spice mi . Top with the rest of apples and sprinkle with remaining sugar spice mi . Press gently with your hand, to make it as compact as possible. Dot with butter, and top with remaining pastry. Brush top with cream or milk. Bake in a 425 F oven 15 minutes.
