1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 egg
4 ounces baking chocolate
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
3 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon dried mint finely crumbled
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter and sugar, Beat in eggs one at a time. Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Stir into butter and egg mi ture. Sift flour with salt. Add flour alternately with milk. When the batter is smooth, stir in vanilla, mint and nuts. Bake in 8 inch square cake pan for 50 minutes.
Serve chilled, plain or iced with a simple chocolate glace decorated with sugared mint leaves. Sugar leaves by taking leaves flushed with cold water, dipping them in eggs whites and rolling them in fine granulated sugar. Dry on wa ed paper.

2 oz Semisweet baking chocolate 2 tb Butter 1/2 c Boiling water 1 1/2 c Sugar ds Salt 1 ts Vanilla Melt chocolate in a double boiler. Stir in butter, then boiling water, then sugar and salt. Cook stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. The sauce is best when served warm. Either serve immediately or reheat in double boiler for 10 minutes or microwave for 1 minute. To store pour into strilized glass jars. Allow sauce to cool before refrigerating. It will keep for 6 months in the refrigerator. Variations: : Add any of the following flavorings...
