1 tb Margarine
1/2 c Onion chopped
1/2 c Celery chopped
1 c Buglar wheat
2 c Chicken broth
1/2 ts Garlic or to taste
1/4 ts Grd white pepper
1/2 c Raisins
1/2 ts Grd cinnamon
1/2 ts Salt
In a nonstick 2 quart pot melt margarine saute onion and celery until tender, stirring often. Stir in buglur wheat and contine cooking until buglar wheat is coated and turns a golden brown. Blend in broth, garlic, pepper, and tarragon. Add raisins, cinnamon, and salt, and mi well. Cover and continue cooking 15 17 minutes or until all liquid has been absorbed. Serve hot as cereal or as a grain side dish. 8 Empty beer cans 1 c Maple syrup 2 tb Soda 1 tb Vanilla 1 c Dates 2 Eggs 2 c Beer 4 c Whole wheat pastry flour 3 tb Butter 1 c Pecans Remove tops from beer cans with can opener lightly oil insides. Sprinkle soda on dates. Heat beer to boiling and pour over date/soda mi ture set aside to cool. Cream together butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and eggs. Stir in flour. Add nuts and cooled date mi ture. Spoon batter into cans, filling only 1/2 full. Bake with cans standing up on cookie sheet, at 350 degrees for 15 30 minutes look for tops to split and test for doneness. Do not cut...
